Increase the charge for driving tests from August 01, 2023

On June 07, 2023, the Ministry of Finance issues Circular No. 37/2023/TT-BTC prescribing the rates, collection, remittance, management, and use of charge for driving tests; fee for grant of licenses or certificates of eligibility for operating all types of vehicles and fee for registration or grant of number plates for special-use vehicles.

In accordance with the Circular 37, the initial grant, re-grant and renewal of a driving license (national and international driving licenses) is VND 135,000/time. However, the charges for driving test have been increased.

The new charges from August 01, 2023 are as follows:

The charge for driving tests prescribed in this Circular shall be applied nationwide (regardless of the central management agencies or local management agencies).

Test takers who are granted a road motor vehicle license of which type shall pay the driving test fee for such type (calculated according to the testing time: initial test or retest).

Circular No. 37/2023/TT-BTC takes effect on August 01, 2023.
