Hanoi: Hourly minimum wage for restaurants and coffee shops is VND 20,000/hour

On June 12, 2022, the Government issues the Decree No. 38/2022/ND-CP prescribing the region-based minimum wages paid to employees working under employment contracts.

In the big cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, the payment of hourly wages is applied in restaurants, coffee shops, clothing shops.... However, there is no regulations on hourly minimum wage levels in previous regulations.

The Decree No. 38/2022 formally issues the hourly minimum wage levels:

VND 20,000/hour

VND 17,500/hour

Region IV

VND 15,600/hour

- In Hanoi:

+ Region I: including districts and rural districts: Gia Lam, Thanh Tri, Dong Anh, Soc Son, Thuong Tin, Thach That, Hoai Duc, Quoc Oai, Thanh Oai, Me Linh, Chuong My and Son Tay town.

Region II: embracing the remaining localities. 

- In Ho Chi Minh city:

+ Region I: including Thu Duc city, rural districts of Cu Chi, Binh Chanh, Hoc Mon, Nha Be.

+ Region II: including Can Gio rural district.

Therefore, from July 01, 2022 at the time of the Decree No. 38/2022/ND-CP takes effect, the hourly minimum wage levels in restaurants, and coffee shops...in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city shall be applied with the hourly minimum wage level with the lowest level of VND 20,000/hour.
