MOH: New prices for SARS-CoV-2 testing services

The Ministry of Health has just issued the Circular No. 02/2022/TT-BYT prescribing prices for SARS-CoV-2 testing services from February 21, 2022.

In particular, the Article 3 of this Circular prescribes that the prices for SARS-CoV-2 testing services from February 21, 2022 - The effective date of the Circular as follows:

- SARS-CoV-2 rapid antigen test for single sample: Service price excluding the cost for biological products is VND 11,200/test and the maximum payment is VND 78,000/test. (The price is VND 109,700/test in the previous regulations).

- Testing by automated or semi-automated immunoassay analyzers for single sample: The maximum payment is VND 178,900/test (The price is VND 186.600/test in the previous regulations in the Circular 16).

- Testing by Real-time RT-PCR technique:

+ Single sample testing: The maximum payment is VND 501,800/test (The price is VND 518.400/test in the previous regulations in the Circular 16).

+ In case of pooling 5 samples or fewer in a test at the place of taking samples: In case of 2 samples per pool VND 223,300/test; In case of 3 samples per pool: VND 175,100/test; In case of 4 samples per pool: VND 151,000/test; In case of 5 samples per pool: VND 136,600/test

+ In case of pooling 5 samples or fewer in a test at a laboratory: The payment for testing service in case of 2 samples per pool: VND 257,000/test; In case of 3 samples per pool: VND 208,800/test; In case of 4 samples per pool: VND 184,700/test; In case of 5 samples: VND 170,300/test

Note: Structure of prices for SARS-CoV-2 testing services stipulated in this Circular includes direct costs for taking and preserving samples, carrying out tests and returning of SARS-CoV-2 test results; costs for payment of salary; costs for biological products used for SARS-CoV-2 testing.

This Circular 02 takes effect on February 18, 2022.
