Shorter licensing time for gold production and trading from October 10, 2025

As of October 10, 2025, Circular No. 34/2025/TT-NHNN officially takes effect, superseding all previous regulations governing the management of gold trading activities.

One of the most significant changes is the substantial reduction in the time limit for the issuance of licenses related to gold production and trading.

According to Articles 13, 14, 16, and 17 of Circular No. 34/2025/TT-NHNN, the time limits for license issuance are specifically provided and shortened by an average of 30–50% compared with previous regulations. Specifically:

In addition, Circular No. 34/2025/TT-NHNN introduces several other noteworthy provisions, including:

- Applications may be submitted online via the National Public Service Portal or the National Single Window Portal;

- Electronic applications must bear a valid digital signature;

- The State Bank of Vietnam or its Regional Branch must respond on the validity of the application within 03 working days from the date of receipt. (Previously, there was no specific regulation on the time limit for confirming application validity.)
