From October 11, 2024: The electricity retail price is over the level of VND 2,100/kWh

On October 11, 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and EVN has decided and issued the Decision on the average electricity retail prices at the Decision No. 2699/QD-BCT

In accordance with Decision No. 2699/QD-BCT, the average electricity retail price is VND 2,103.1159/kWh (exclusive of value-added tax).

This adjustment is increased by 4.8% compared to the current average electricity retail price.

In particular, the electricity retail price (exclusive of value-added tax) is specified as follows:

The electricity retail price

Rate 1: For the kWh from 0 – 50: 1,893 VND/kWh

Rate 2: For the kWh from 51 – 100: 1,956 VND/kWh

Rate 3: For the kWh from 101 – 200: 2,271 VND/kWh

Rate 4: For the kWh from 201 – 300: 2,860 VND/kWh

Rate 5: For the kWh from 301 – 400: 3,197 VND/kWh

Rate 6: For the kWh from 401 onwards 3,302 VND/kWh

In accordance with Mr. Nguyen Xuan Nam – The Deputy General Director of Vietnam Electricity assumes that in the increase of 4.8%, each household shall pay more:

- The electricity retail price is increased by 13,9800 VND/month for the kWh under 200

- The electricity retail price is increased by 32,000 VND VND/month for the kWh from 200 – 300

- The electricity retail price is increased by 47,000 VND VND/month for the kWh from 300 – 400

- The electricity retail price is increased by 62,000 VND VND/month for the kWh from 400 onwards

The electricity retail prices for businesses and services are increased by 4.8% and the average price for households is increased by 247.000 VND/month.

The Decision No. 2699/QD-BCT takes effect on October 11, 2024.
